Docebo – Accessibility statement

Docebo is committed to providing SaaS enterprise applications accessible to all individuals, including those using assistive technologies. We believe that by making technology more accessible, we’re helping create a future with greater opportunity and equality. Disability inclusion is fundamental to this belief, and we recognize that inclusion fuels innovation.

Docebo publicly undertakes to clearly identify the state of compliance of the platform with WCAG 2.2 standards, level A and AA (with references also to European Telecommunications Standards Institute EN 301 549 and US Federal Government Revised 508 Standards) for the Docebo platform. AAA compliance is not within Docebo's current scope. Docebo's focus is to provide an inclusive experience and meet the necessary legal requirements (A and AA), ensuring that all users can safely and effectively access our platform.

To this end, Docebo implements the following strategy and actions:

  • Native accessibility with continuous improvement: Since July 2020, Docebo has implemented native accessibility with a continuous improvement approach.
  • Accessibility core UX plan: implement a multi-year plan (2020-2023) focused on ensuring access to and participation in the courses included in the learner's learning path. The action plan was aligned with the product roadmap.
  • Professional accessibility audit: In 2024, Docebo engaged UsableNet, an accredited expert, to conduct a professional accessibility audit.
  • Ongoing WCAG 2.x compliance improvements: In 2025, Docebo will continue to enhance WCAG 2.x compliance through its second multi-year accessibility plan (2025-2030).

Compliance status

The Docebo platform is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guideline standards, level A and AA. Docebo’s journey towards accessibility began in 2020 and it can be considered a work in progress, as more and more areas of the experience meet the platform accessibility standards. Starting from December 2024 Docebo targets to comply with the most updated version of standard 2.2. All the conformance details are provided in the Docebo Accessibility Conformance Reports (VPAT) available in the Accessibility section of the knowledge base.

Compliance note

At the moment, the Docebo platform is accessible from the learner’s point of view to cover the platform’s core functionality in terms of accessing and attending the courses included in the learner’s learning path. We concentrated on the learner experience since learners represent the majority of our users. The compliance on accessibility is detailed in the following documents:

Non-accessible content

Despite our efforts to ensure accessibility, we are aware of some limitations, which we are working to fix. Here follows a description of the main ones:

  • In the Docebo platform, non-text content is generally presented to the user with a text alternative that serves an equivalent purpose. However, there are a few exceptions where the alternative text is not available.
  • The Docebo platform programmatically determines the language of a page. However, at the moment there is no mechanism to specify different languages for subsets or parts of a page.
  • The Docebo platform presents most of the content in a meaningful sequence, operable through keyboard navigation, and does not “trap” the keyboard focus within subsections of content, however, there are some exceptions.
  • The Docebo platform uses standard HTML and WAI-ARIA attributes to describe the role, name, value, identity, operation, and state of user interface elements to assistive technologies, and presents the content with proper labels and in a meaningful reading sequence, however, there are some exceptions.
  • The Docebo platform strives to ensure that the focus indicator is always visible and has good contrast with the surrounding content and background, however, there are some exceptions.
  • The Docebo platform slide training material provides raster images with no alternative text.

All the conformance details are provided in the Docebo Accessibility Conformance Reports (VPAT) available in the Accessibility section of the knowledge base. If you encounter any other issue not listed or if you have a suggestion on how to improve accessibility, please email us at accessibility@docebo.com.

Design and development

Since July 2020, Docebo has prioritized removing barriers to accessibility. To ensure sustainable and compliant accessibility aligned with international standards, the company has focused on implementing native accessibility. This involves directly integrating the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) into product development, making features accessible by default, and using semantic code.

This approach avoids relying on overlays or plug-ins, which do not fully meet the needs of people with disabilities and are unable to fully address accessibility issues, leaving gaps in WCAG and not protecting companies from legal risks.

Our commitment to support accessibility

Docebo implements the following measures to ensure the accessibility of the Docebo platform:

  • Incorporation in product strategy: Accessibility requirements are integrated into the product strategy.
  • Design personas: Accessibility considerations are included in design personas to ensure inclusive design.
  • Accessibility manager: An Accessibility manager is appointed to oversee accessibility initiatives.
  • Professional audit: Engaged UsableNet, an accredited expert, to conduct accessibility audits and enhance the product development team's accessibility knowledge.
  • Periodic testing: Regular tests are performed to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.x guidelines.
  • Continuous training: Ongoing accessibility training is provided to the product development team.
  • Help documentation: The Docebo platform knowledge base includes information and suggestions regarding accessibility.
  • Release notes: Accessibility enhancements are clearly communicated through Docebo accessibility release notes.

Supported technologies

Starting in 2024, Docebo aims to comply with the WCAG 2.x guidelines, ensuring that no usage condition or technology is excluded. To guarantee this, we conduct thorough manual testing across different browsers and screen readers. For general information about platform system requirements refer to the Docebo system requirements.

Platform tests against the WCAG guidelines

The accessible areas of the Docebo platform declared in our Docebo Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) are tested on a regular basis thanks to:

  • Manual tests for keyboard navigation and screen reader.
  • Weekly automated tests with UsableNet AQA tools.

The accessibility features of the Docebo platform, as declared in our Docebo Accessibility Conformance Report based on the VPAT, are tested in the following environments:

  • Operating systems: Microsoft Windows (tested with Chrome and Firefox) and macOS (tested with Chrome).
  • Keyboard navigation: We ensure full support for keyboard-only navigation.
  • Browser zoom: Accessibility is tested with zoom levels ranging from 100% to 400%.
  • Page reflow: We verify that pages reflow properly without requiring horizontal scrolling, even at high zoom levels.
  • Screen readers: Testing includes the use of the most used NVDA and JAWS to ensure compatibility with assistive technologies.
